Atmospheric pollution is a danger to health.

Various chemical substances are made from different types of fuel including car and factory smoke, coal. Among these, lead, nitrogen oxides, ozone, particulate matter, carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide - the effects of these six types of chemicals are the most serious. All are harmful to the body. But among these chemicals, it's good to have some idea about particulate matter and ozone. Particulate matter is some particles of 2 to 10 micrometers in size floating in the air, which originate mainly from dust, gas, various types of smoke. They also originate from air coolers, aerosols and power plants. These chemical elements pollute the air in three forms: liquid, gas and solid. Being very light, these pollutants can easily float in the air for 2 to 7 days.

Now let's talk about the well-known ozone. Ozone is a gas of two types. One is high above the atmosphere; About 30 miles up. Another gas, ozone, is formed at high altitudes. The ozone layer that forms at the height of the land is called - bad ozone. This bad ozone comes mainly from car and factory fumes, fuel oil fumes, some chemicals including some electrical appliances. These chemicals form the harmful ozone gas when exposed to sunlight. This gas can exist up to 6 miles above the ground. The sky becomes hazy in its presence. They are not only bad for human body but also harm plants, crops and animals.

Also, there is a good ozone layer about 30 miles above the ground. Because of this layer, harmful ultraviolet rays cannot reach the earth. As a result, the earth is saved from the harmful effects of the rays. But this ozone layer is also damaged by some gases that are overused. One of these gases is CFC. Generally, this type of gas is used for air-cooling, aerosol spray, fire extinguisher etc. They damage the good ozone layer. As a result, the sun's ultraviolet rays or ultraviolet rays can easily reach the earth without hindrance. Harmful rays also damage the skin, eyes; Crop fields, plants are damaged.

Air Quality Index (AQI) is 336 in Dhaka's Baridhara, and 32 in New York. An AQI level of 0-50 is normal or good. If this level is more than 300 it is considered harmful. Everyone living in this harmful environment has various health risks. I think it is relevant to know a little information about how air pollution is happening before giving information about what harm can be done to people as a result of air pollution. Now let's talk about the health risks.

Lungs are the first to be affected by air pollution. Which manifests itself through coughing. Coughing is always going on. persistent cough At one point the cough is accompanied by difficulty in breathing. Which eventually leads to asthma or asthma. Loss of lung cell function can lead to another problem in some people, medically known as COPD. COPD stands for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Patients with COPD suffer from some type of breathing problem permanently. The condition of such patients is sometimes such that they cannot function without oxygen. Then the result is what it will be. If someone lives with harmful elements present in the air for a long time, then those harmful elements can penetrate deep into the lung cells. If this happens, the risk of lung cancer increases manifold. The heart is directly related to the lungs, so any long-term problem with the lungs affects the heart. Decreased lung function affects the heart, weakening the heart and gradually leading to heart failure. In addition, toxic particles and gases entering the body with breathing affect the nerves, causing neurological problems, affecting the nerves and brain. Nervousness, irritable mood, memory loss, headaches and many more. The effects of nerve poisoning are gradual, steadily increasing in severity. But as a result of air pollution, eyes and skin are affected immediately. Itchy eyes, watery eyes, red eyes, itchy skin, skin rash are all early allergic reactions. Which can later lead to conjunctivitis or inflamed conjunctivitis. There may be skin inflammation, some more complicated skin problems from inflammation.

In medical terms, many more problems can be named, the meaning of which may seem incomprehensible to the general public. But the bottom line is that air pollution is very harmful to the body. Various efforts should be continued to get rid of it. It is important to take individual and holistic measures to prevent air pollution, but prevention at the individual level as a citizen living in the midst of air pollution is important. Avoid areas with air pollution as much as possible, especially during exercise.

Since there are benefits to living in the city, there are also disadvantages. City is the source of various elements of environmental pollution including cars, factories, gas, burnt oil, smoke. Air pollution is one of the environmental pollution. Air pollution damage occurs very quickly and is immediately detectable. Because we do not breathe at least 15 to 20 times per minute. When polluted air enters the lungs with inhalation, its effects are easily felt immediately. Polluted air not only attacks the lungs but also affects the nose, eyes, mouth and skin.
